Troy Lee Designs A1 – Race Design All Mountain Helmet with MIPS Rotational Brain Protection. The A1s reinforced polycarbonate helmet shell with moulded-in EPS liner extends over the sides and to the back of the head, providing ideal protection in the event of a fall. The MIPS protection system reduces rotational forces to the head in the event of an impact. The adjustable visor is held and regulated by anodised aluminium screws. A three-position adjustable support system allows you to adjust the helmet to your individual fit. Wearing glasses can also be taken into account with this. The one-piece lining is removable and washable. Its antimicrobial, moisture-wicking material guarantees you a dry, comfortable feeling in the helmet, even in hot weather. In addition, when the heat is on, the 8 inlet and 8 outlet openings allow air to flow through the helmet and noticeably cool the head. InMoldingInmolding is a technology for optimising the weight, ventilation and stability of the helmet. The outer shell is bonded to the impact absorbing EPS material during the manufacturing process. MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System)The MIPS fall protection system is a low-friction layer under the helmet padding that reduces the rotational forces transmitted to the brain in an impact. This layer allows the head to move 10-15 mm relative to the helmet in all directions during a fall and redirect energies and forces that would otherwise be transmitted to the brain. MIPS helmets are designed to protect the brain from an angled impact because angled falls create rotational forces that are transmitted to the brain and can lead to brain injury. MIPS can reduce both rotational movement and the risk of brain damage.
